Terms and Conditions

BOOKING PERIODS:

During the High Season, June, July, August and September we prefer to take a 7-night booking from Saturday to Saturday.  We are very flexible during the Mid and Low Seasons with any arrival and departure day with a minimum rental period of a 3-night stay.

Please contact us if you have a query regarding this arrangement, we are very flexible.

CHARGES & TERMS:
A non-refundable deposit of £100.00 for each week or part week must be received within seven days of the booking; otherwise, the dates requested will be released. The balance is to be received, at the latest, six weeks before your arrival date.

Barn Cottage owners reserve the right to cancel the booking when full payment has not been received five weeks before the arrival date. Your home address and contact telephone number will be required before we can accept a booking.

CANCELLATION:
In the event of a cancellation, if less than six weeks before arrival. We will make every effort to re-let the cottage on our website; if successful, we will refund the balance you have paid, less the £100 deposit. However, if we cannot re-let, we have to advise that you will be liable for the full cost of the holiday booking. We therefore strongly recommend that you take out your own Holiday Cancellation insurance cover.

PAYMENT:
We accept all major Credit and Debit cards, also cheques or electronic internet transfers by arrangement. Bank details will be available if requested. Please make cheques payable to Mr J E Beach and post to Long Meadow Cottage, Coombs Road, Bakewell DE45 1AQ.

DAMAGES & BREAKAGES:
All damages and breakages caused during occupancy are your responsibility – You are expected to take care of the property and its contents whilst in your occupancy.

PARTY SIZE: 
The cottage is designed and equipped to accommodate two adults only. Under no circumstances should more than two people occupy the cottage overnight.

CARS & BICYCLES

The rental includes for parking ONE guest’s car on the owner’s courtyard in front of the cottage.
An additional car is charged £10 per night, please inform us when making the initial booking.
There is a convenient Pay & Display public car park nearby with overnight parking.

We have a fast 7.5 KWh EV charging point which is conveniently positioned at the cottage for guests use, a nominal charge applies.

We do not have parking facilities for camper vans or commercial vehicles of any size.

Bicycles can be stored under cover of the owner’s garage/car port, there is also a ‘wash off’ facility.

The owners of Barn Cottage Bakewell accept no responsibility for loss or damage to guests’ cars or bicycles whilst parked on the premises.

PETS
One small to medium-sized, well-behaved, house-trained dog is welcome at Barn Cottage;  a £10 per night charge will apply. Please notify us if you intend to bring your dog when making the initial booking.

SMOKING:
The cottage is definitely No Smoking.

BED LINEN & TOWELS:
All bed linen, tea towels, personal towels, soaps and toilet rolls, kitchen rolls and napkins are included in the rental charge.

GAS & ELECTRICITY:
All electricity, gas and water usage is included in the rental charge.

DEPARTURE:
Before your arrival, the cottage is meticulously cleaned and presented by Wendy or Lesley, our housekeepers. You are politely requested that you leave the cottage in a condition that you would like to find it. The owners of Barn Cottage reserve the right to charge for extra cleaning and materials if the cottage and equipment are left in an excessively dirty or damaged condition.

The cottage will be vacated by 10 am on your day of departure at the latest. This gives us time to service the cottage before the next guests arrive at 2 pm.

We reserve the right to cancel your booking if the cottage is subject to circumstances beyond our control before your arrival. Under these circumstances, you will receive a full refund.
